Brian Hanlen
Director of Constructability
Brian recently joined Poss with a role aimed at bringing a unique and strategic perspective to create a bridge between the design and construction worlds. This is to best optimize the final product and the process by which we get there.
In 1986, at a young age, he began working full-time in construction with his grandfather. He started his design/build firm in 1996, which he ran for 18 years before moving to the Roaring Fork Valley in 2013. He served for six and a half years with the Steamboat Springs Planning Commission, provided testimony as an expert witness for construction litigation, consulted for land planning and entitlements, and specialized in staircases, unique trim, and millwork.
Through a holistic view of coordinating architecture, interiors, structural, mechanical, lighting, civil, and landscaping, we create effective risk management for the firm’s, the client’s, the builders’, and ultimately the project’s best interest, while assisting the project team in creating the best possible product.
After retiring as a former competitive mogul skier, Brian helped run 9 World Cup and Pro Freestyle events as well as 2 Olympic training camps. He enjoys trail running, skiing, swimming, biking, movies, reading, and spending time with his daughter.
